Description
This course is recommended for new divers who want to gain experience and confidence. You’ll learn how to orientate yourself underwater and find your position, which will come in really useful when you start diving without a professional guide, or if one day you drift from your group or for some reason you have to go back to the boat or shore. Once you can move and orientate yourself in the water with ease, you will feel much more confident when you are enjoying your underwater adventures.
You will learn how to use natural elements such as the sun, seabed, or sand to help you find your way. You’ll also learn how to use a compass and work out your location and routes.
How is the course organized?
As with all our SSI diving courses, the theory lessons can be studied online from wherever you happen to be, at your pace and in the language you choose.
When you have finished the theory lessons, we will carry out two immersions.
Our Technical Director Xavi Llambrich, GRAE underwater rescue diver from the Catalan fire service is in charge of the practical lessons. He has had many years experience training divers at all levels.
Remember that this speciality course will also count towards the training you need if you are aiming for the Advanced Open Water Diver certificate, which requires training in 4 specialities and 24 dives registered officially in your SSI digital logbook.
